“WHERE?” The 4th of 5 W’s To Google Adwords Success

Answering the “Where?” To Achieve Google Adwords Success

As we proceed through our 5 W’s to Google Adwords Success, I’m excited to know that these simple steps are helping people just like you achieve success with your Google Adwords efforts.

Adwords is not easy, especially for beginners!  And unfortunately, the learning curve is extremely expensive (as I learned the hardway.)

Let’s answer the question “Where?” as it relates to Google Adwords.

In all of the 5 W’s to Google Adwords Success, that I’ve written about thus far, I’ve emphasized the importance of “knowing your market”.

This is true, I believe, whether you are advertising with Google Adwords, or any other advertising platform – both online and off line.  You MUST know your market to effectively reach them!

“Where?” is a more geographical question that needs to be answered in  your Google Adwords campaign.  And the best way to answer “Where?” is to define, in the most realistic terms, your market radius.  That is, how far out are you willing to drive for your customers.

Perhaps your business is isolated to your city or town, or maybe to your county.  Or maybe your business is 100% on the web, and you can market on a global level.

Whatever the case may be, you must evaluate and determine your most profitable audience.

Now, within Google Adwords “campaign settings”, and also directly on your “home page” of your Google Adwords campaign, is where you’ll be able to control the geographical elements of your campaign.

The geographical targeting tools in Google Adwords are nothing less than amazing!  You can isolate your city, metro area, state… or dig way down into a specific set of longitude and lattitude line segments.

Basically, there is no limit as to how broad, or how detailed, your ad targeting can be.  And with a little homework in identifying your market base, you’ll be precisely targeting your ads to your customers in no time!
